Sonia works as a designer and researcher in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, doing co-creation projects for social impact. She has lived for 11 years in the UK, where she worked as a Senior Service Designer and Project lead for the non profit organisation Innovation Unit and then as freelancer, leading projects for a wide variety of clients, like Guy's & St. Thomas' charity, Lankelly Chase, NHS, the National Trust, the Soil Association and Apart of Me. In 2023 Sonia co-founded the non-profit organisation The Firefly Project, which aims to improve the experience of children and young people dealing with loss by delivering proactive grief education.
After completing her Bachelors at Design Academy Eindhoven, Sonia graduated with distinction from the MA Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
Sonia’s projects have a proactive approach which is centred on active listening, engaging storytelling, sparking imagination, and facilitating co-creation. Her ultimate goal is to equip others with the tools needed to drive positive change in the world.
